Media Center
The BLPS Media Center is a vibrant, future-ready space where students in all grades are exposed to a variety of traditional and digital reading resources. Students are able to explore many genres and types of literature to cultivate their individual reading tastes. Our goal is for students to learn how to locate the books that they love so that they will become lifelong readers who read for both information and entertainment.
Students learn to be creators through the variety of Makerspaces in our Media Center. They are encouraged to use the world class skills of critical thinking, collaboration, and problem solving to complete the activities. Students in grades one and two are also taught curricula integrating elements of information literacy, digital citizenship, and coding through bi-weekly Computer Science lessons.

K-4 and K-5 students are allowed to check out one book and 1st and 2nd graders are allowed to check out two books. Circulation periods are two weeks in length. Students should turn in books to the library and not to their classrooms. Books are not considered βinβ unless they have been processed through the library (classroom book return baskets may not be turned in daily). Books should be placed inside the book drop on the right side of the circulation desk.
